The passion to design and create is constant and driving. It can startle, it can inspire awe, and it can bring calm. Wielding creativity and creating solutions to communication problems are the designers challenges, and why I do what I do.
My name is Laura Kastelein. I am a graduate of the Digital Art and Design program at Thompson Rivers University.
I am currently employed by Elpis Web and Graphic Solutions as primary graphic designer, and by Black Press newspapers.
My training includes the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, and Flash CS3 and CS4) Design theory, typography, digital photography, photo/colour correcting, prepress, and web html, css, and flash. I have also been trained in project management and basic marketing.
Design Award: Winning logo in a re-design contest for the College of Optometrists of BC (April 2009).
